Welcome to the World Jack Sullivan Krus

On July 12th, 2012 at 9 am we welcomed Jack Sullivan Krus to our family. It was the most incredible day of our lives. He weighed 8lbs 8oz and was 22 inches long.

Jack's due date was July 11, 2011. Shannon was scheduled to be induced on Sunday evening the 10th, with hopes of Jack arriving on the 11th. Jack had his own plans.  We went to the hospital Sunday evening at 8pm. They started the induction with a medicine called cervidil, which was given over a 12 hour period. At 9 am Monday morning there wasn't any progress made. Shannon was started on a medication called pitocin. She was on this til Tuesday morning at 6am. She had dilated to 5 cm, but unfortunately developed a fever, and Jack's heartrate was in the 170's. Shannon's doctor recommended a c-section because of the risk of infection.  The c-section went great and Jack arrived at 9am.

Jack had a wonderful report from the pediatrician and was healthy as can be.  Shannon tolerated the c-section well. We spent 4 days at the hospital- Missouri Baptist- and had wonderful care by the amazing nurses and doctors.
