Jack turns 5 months

Its hard to believe that Jack turned 5 months in December. He is changing so fast and we can't believe how much more active and aware he's becoming.  He started sitting without help early-mid December. He's starting to want his freedom more to play.  Towards the middle of the month he figured out how to push up on his arms and legs - up on all 4's.. and you can tell he's trying to figure out how to move. He is still as happy as can be.. and he's still not figuring out how to sleep for long periods at night. He likes to wake up every 3-4 hours:) Jack went with us in the beginning of December to his first performance of the Nutcracker. The Moscow Ballet was at the Peabody Opera House. Jack was awake for the 1st half of the show and seemed entertained by the music and the dancing, and he slept during the second half. The people sitting near us commented at Intermission on what a good baby he was and how they couldn't believe how quiet he was. We went with my mom and sister- thanks Dad for the tickets. We celebrated Jack's 1st St. Nick's day - not that he can understand yet- but a tradition that we've always enjoyed and look forward to sharing with him. He got all kinds of exciting things like baby cereal, baby oragel, onesies, and sleepers:)  Meghan Sullivan came in town for a few days and came to visit and hang out one night. We enjoyed the night with her and Jack loved cuddling with her. Jack did some major shopping with us in December getting ready for Christmas- its amazing how good he is for hours! He clearly has shopping in his genes and we feel lucky that for now he's happy to go along, nap and people watch while we shop.  He also discovered his tongue and loves to stick it out and back in- and then cracks himself up:)  We took him to Plaza Frontenac to sit on Santa's lap- he seemed like he could have cared less about his bearded friend holding him- he was more interested in watching all of the other little kids run around. We also got to grab brunch with friends one weekend at Rooster downtown St. Louis- a great brunch place if you haven't been there. Jim was in town visiting Kelly too and joined us.

these pictures with the blocks are getting harder now that
he is interested in knocking them over mid picture:)
