Jack's 1st Easter

Jack had a great first Easter. We have known since before Jack was born that he would have a big loving family... with great holiday traditions, and wonderful grandparents, great grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins to share these holidays with. Obviously Jack doesn't know exactly what all of this means just yet.. but Easter seemed to be the first holiday that he was at least able to enjoy playing with cousins, etc. Because he's walking.. he "participated" in easter egg hunts, swung the bat at the pinata (with grandma's help), enjoyed easter sweets, and had a fun day. You can tell he loves being around people because he laughs and gets really excited when he's around new people, especially other kids.  We started the Easter celebrations at our house Saturday when we celebrated with the Krus family.  The Easter bunny had stopped at Aunt Ginny's and G&G Krus' house and Jack enjoyed his baskets. Sunday we went to the Shrine for Mass - which was outside this year because it was a gorgeous day. Then we headed to brunch with the Sullivan family and back to Great Grandma and Grandpa Sullivan's house for an easter egg hunt, a scavenger hunt and the annual pinata.. so much fun!   In the afternoon Mimi and Grandpa Bill hosted the Schaefer family for dinner and an adult and kid easter egg hunt. We had such a fun day celebrating Jack's first Easter.

Jack turns 9 months

Jack turned 9 months on April 12th.. and I'm late getting this updated! He changes so fast and his development is incredible. He is all over the place. He took his first steps at 8 1/2 months and hasn't stopped moving since. We quickly learned that he's not too into his toys anymore... he'd much rather check out a bathtub, cabinet, toilet, paper, closet door.. anything new he can explore.. so we quickly figured out that we needed to babyproof/jackproof all of the things that could be dangerous..   If he's ever upset or bored:) his favorite thing is for us to open the refrigerator or dishwasher and then he proceeds to pull things off the shelves in the door, and pull things out of the dishwasher (don't worry- he can't reach the knives).  He has figured out peek a boo, is a little bit ticklish and has an adorable laugh.  He got a singing chicken/duck (i'm not sure which one it is:) for Easter from G&G Krus and tries to dance like it.. check out the video below).  He had his 9 month check up and weighed 22 1/2 lbs (75th percentile), was 29 inches long (80th percentile) and I can't remember his head measurement but it was in the 40th percentile..  Poor guy has had recurrent ear infections and in the past 4 months has been on 7 different antibiotics. He was referred to a pediatric ENT- but they can't get him in until May 30th (I wish I had pull in pediatrics!!). So I'm sure he will be getting tubes placed shortly after that appointment.  Somehow he's still a super happy little guy during the day.. it mainly bothers him at night when he's sleeping/laying down.

and check out the video at the very bottom.. jack's first attempt at dancing.. to whitney houston while it was on Glee

Sean Wuller came in for a visit and Jack was able to meet him for the first time

Aunt KK had a few days off for Spring Break and spent a day with Jack. She took him
to the zoo, then they picked me up for lunch, and spent the afternoon at her apartment in Brentwood. He
loved the day and attention from her!

lunch on a workday.. fun surprise

i know he's constantly smiling.. but on a rare occasion when we don't let him into a cabinet or he can't do something he wants to do.. he has learned the "fake cry".. here's a pic:)

shopping at target.. he loves to shop (aka pull everything off any shelf he can reach)

he just finished up swim lessons with cousin Livi... they'll resume this summer at an outdoor pool

how fun- climbing into the shower while mom gets ready for work

Jack met his new friend Grace (my friend mary from work's little girl) and they
had a great time playing at dinner and afterwards getting ice cream:)
